St. Louis Charity Day 4

No time for pictures, but a quick report – Bart and I did the High Adult class at 10:30 this morning. An easy start, but hooray for being finished early, too!

I rode well to the first six jumps, had a cheap rail at #4B. At #7 I got a bit slow, and at #8, an oxer, I buried poor Bart and he had to make a superhorse effort to jump us out of trouble. Then, to my chagrin I added a stride in the in and out at 9AB. Finished well over the final two jumps, and ended on 4 faults, earning a green (Irish) ribbon for sixth place, and a very red face with the embarrassment of how badly I rode. What a great horse!

Then, I guess the drug testers picked me out because Bart must have had a performance enhancing substance to clear that oxer (just kidding – it’s random). So we had to wait an hour for Bart to pee in a cup before going home.

We went back for Maclay Regionals (report later) and now a late night and an early morning ahead.

I asked Kris if I should scratch the Classic tomorrow and he said, no, just ride better. Oh, dear!

Jen Robertson sent me three pictures of Bart. Here they are in reverse order…

More tomorrow…

  1. Go Bart Go! Hope you found your inner “I must keep up with Harry, the hounds are in full cry” ride today. Sounds like Bart would like it 🙂
