Onward

Though sometimes the world seems dimmed, life goes on, and the world offers solace. Harry is back in rhythm, and back on his horse.

After our trail ride, the horses were rewarded with Spring grass. Stone rolled off lots of winter hair. It’s that shedding time of year.

Of course, the horses’ time on grass is limited, lest they eat themselves sick, and with rain in the forecast, it looks like it may be several days before they get out onto the fields again.

Bart stopped coughing last Wednesday, and finished his medications Saturday morning. Back to work he went on Saturday, and he is feeling 100%. So the Old Ladies Horse Showing plan continues, with alterations. We will see how it goes, but Omaha is still our ultimate goal.

Weedy has been enjoying his adventures again. They were curtailed while Harry was in hospital last week. He was walked on a leash, much to his dismay!

Adventures are very tiring, so resting is imperative.

Cedar patrols for varmints between rests.

Today was trash day, and I hadn’t seen Harlan for a couple of Tuesdays, since I was gone before he arrived. It was good to see him today. He continues to do a great job, and he loves the horses. Two weeks ago, he left a basket of carrots for the horses, which were greatly appreciated.

At long last, the chairs we ordered last October arrived this afternoon. Handmade in Virginia, they are beautiful and supremely comfortable.

.The birds have been a joy, but I have only two pictures for today. A diving cardinal, and a bluebird. I see the bluebirds a lot, but they are very camera shy.

The flowers are riotous.

Be safe, be well, stay healthy. Slava Ukraini! Peace.

  1. Oh my gosh I can smell spring from here, thank you! So happy to see you all on horses, in the sunshine. Nothing better, enjoy!
