I had a pounding toothache yesterday, and made an appointment for Thursday to see the dentist. Today got off to a lucky start, when the dentist had a cancellation and they called me to come in. You know it’s pretty bad when going to the dentist is considered lucky. Thanks to Covid vaccinations, I am not anxious about that aspect of it, and now I am on the way to dealing with the toothache.
Before I left, I got some bird pictures.
I was sure I would miss Harlan, but, unfortunately for him, he got stuck on a pickup this morning, so he was running late, and I was back in time. Again, lucky, the thaw was so complete I did not have to jump into the dumpster to scrape the sides. A good day.
Harlan is in short sleeves – what a difference a week makes!
Meanwhile, Harry had an errand in St. Louis County, so he went to Imo’s on the way home and we had a pizza party with Jane.

The horses were resigned to their fates, locked in the paddocks. I went to check the ring conditions, and it looks like the horses can get back to work tomorrow. The road to the ring is a sloppy mess, but the ring itself looks great.

In the barn, Marmalade is getting quite comfortable with visiting. The horses came in for the evening after a day of rolling, getting dirty in preparation for going back to work. They were able to enjoy open windows until night check.

Harry came out to the barn to visit.
As I finished up, and returned to the house, I found Harry taking the dogs out.

The horses are in their stalls, with windows open, cars no longer using the barn overhang as a garage. Spring is on the way!
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Ouch! I hope the dentist helped and you are better soon! Your Flicker is a body builder with an impressive profile, I don’t think I have ever seen one in person. The flickers in the mountains of Wyoming are huge, but no yellow shafts. Here we have red-bellied woodpeckers, I am on the lookout for flickers now. Marmalade is looking domestic! Nothing like the closeness of winter to improve social bonds. Jane, you look so resplendent, personality popping out of Anne’s good work. And Harry and Mistletoe look like all we need to be happy is sun. Go sun go!
Peace, L
I like Linda’s comments so much I think I’ll just ditto them! Go Marmalade!!
Happy you got in to see the dentist so soon. I hope he took care of your problem.
