Tuesday Therapy – February 25, 2020

Today was Physical Therapy day with Kristin. No sleeping in, but there was time for a quick check of the news… Weedy says “Quit looking at that phone, and pet me!”

Harry, Weedy, and Roscoe in the morning.

Then a shave, and Harry was ready for PT…

Handsome Harry

Kristin is actually a doctor – she has a doctorate in Physical Therapy. The training takes 7 years! She certainly doesn’t look old enough for that (or for having two children), but everyone under 60 looks very young to us now. Kristin’s expertise is evident. She really knows what she is doing, and she has set Harry on a better path of exercise. And she seems to care about her patients. We got very lucky when we crossed paths with her. She looked at the leg wound, which is closed now, but the leg itself started seeping some blood last night. Seems to be the adhesive that caused it. She reassured us that we are on the right track with plain gauze and paper tape instead. It’s always something…

I made another foray out into the world, to the medical supply shop to prepare for Friday’s OT visit, when we will install grab bars, and to the grocery store. Such fun to be doing mundane things! I do feel for Harry, as the inactivity is getting very tedious. He survived my absence, and we ate very well when I returned.

The horses are wallowing in mud, but I cannot bear to lock them up, since they are not being ridden. When I brought them in, I had to wash legs – they were mud caked to knees and hocks.

It’s wetter than it looks out there

Roscoe went out despite the dreary weather. Poor Harry! He is the only one who doesn’t get out. Roscoe and Tom Morris have a guarded relationship. King of Cats, and Prince of the Barn…

Tonight was to be our last show at The Rep – our season tickets. Jane, at least, was able to attend, and friends are filling our seats. We look forward to hearing about it. This is getting more difficult, the long slog is demoralizing. But we have an x ray to look forward to, and healing is bound to be happening while we slog along.

Despite the tedium, another day on the books. When I went to the barn this evening, Cedar came along. I gave her a “cat food scatter” – a special treat for dogs. Tom Morris joined her for a snack.

Cat Food Scatter!

Last word to Roscoe tonight – Good night and God Bless!

Roscoe loves the recliner and the sheepskin pad

  1. I don’t know but it looks like inside is a good place to be at the moment…and blissed out sounds like a good place too. Healing energy is humming your way.

  2. Tedium is the worst. I sympathize. But, you all know the amazing “healing energy that’s humming your way.” I like Linda’s post 😊 And, what sustains that healing energy, LOVE! And you all have that by the boat loads! Love ya!!
