I wasn’t very good about pictures this morning, so I missed out on shots of us jumping, riding through the woods and a view of a black and white creature running down the trail in front of Jane and Derry. Not a Croucher, either, it was a SKUNK! Luckily it was running ahead of us, and did not stop and spray us.
It was a busy day, with bedding and various feeds to buy and unload. This afternoon, I took a few pictures.
First bloom of the “Mexican sunflower” seeds I planted . I was worried they were cockleburs it took so long for a flower to appear! A tiny butterfly happened by. Afternoon light on pine needles A strange shot of a summer tanager lifting off the deck railing, but something impressionistic about it that I like
As usual, the photogenic Tom Morris made the cut.
In the studio, Harry was accompanied by dogs, his pals and muses.
Mistletoe is out of focus in every sense. Nettie Weedy relaxing in the house after a day of helping in the studio
After their dinner, Marmalade and Licorice are photographed in barely enough light.
Watch out for skunks!
And finally, the Pearl Brothers give each other a scratch before a night of grazing…
Nancy and Steve have wandered into the wilderness again, so Rainy pictures will resume when they return.
Stay safe, stay well, stay hydrated and stay sane!
SKUNKS… yesterday one ran out JUST in front of my car… I was only going about 20 beginning to speed up to the limit on Wolfrum… could not stop completely… did not feel a thump… in my rearview mirror I could see the skunk had survived between my wheels! And was just lowering from his spray posture … next I realized my car was filling with that peculiar and familiar odorous vapor .He ran gleefully off the road as I watched in my mirror!! Now I still feel like “Pigpen”… a cloud of ??? Following me around like a shapeless shadow!!
Oh, no!!! You poor thing! The worst stink, and it takes ages to abate. Ask Jane!
