Snow!

Well, we weren’t expecting snow. I guess we haven’t been paying attention to the weather forecast. The cars were not undercover (though Weedy was), the shovels were still in the shed. We were quite unprepared for the beauty that greeted us as dawn came up.

Marianne arrived to turn out the horses and do the barn chores. I am not too compromised by Monday’s treatment, so I walked over for a quick visit. Luckily, the snow did not stick much to the sidewalk or the roads. I feel awful that I cannot help. Barn chores do get more difficult with snow, but Marianne was not concerned.

Harlan came and did his usual masterful job on the dumpster, despite the conditions. We missed him, as I went on errands with Harry and Weedy. Weedy and I tossed a coin for the front seat, and I won. When we got home, he and Cedar relaxed on the bed. Nettie can no longer jump up onto the bed, but she has a comfortable day bed. At night, she often sleeps in the closet.

We have a definite shortage of blue jays here, but Jane has seen several at her house. I have seen one, but no luck with the camera yet.

Jane came over for a visit and she brought the horses in, while I supervised and took a couple of pictures. We are very lucky to have such a friend!

And so that’s all there is for this day of resting and healing…

Be safe, be well, stay warm. Slava Ukraini! Peace.

  1. Beautiful snowy photos, especially Weedy and Cedar knowing exactly where they want to be. You all look cozy.
