I woke up with no pain, and my three favorite boys.
There were birds in abundance this morning.

On the way to the barn with Cedar, we were joined by Tom Morris, who had been out all night catting around. They shared varmint information.
Marmalade awaited his breakfast, while Roscoe went for a morning stroll in the woods.

I lunged Stone a bit, then I just couldn’t resist, so I hopped on him to ride back to the barn. He was delightful.
Side reins – poor Stone! Wonderful trail horse
Harry and I had a quick lunch, and then I had a scheduled ride with Jane. That was complicated by a call from our neighbor, Diane, to say that Holly and Weedy had tussled and Weedy had run off yelping down the driveway. She was very nice about it, but we were mortified. Weedy has disgraced the family by trespassing. Diane thought it was Holly’s fault and she was worried about Weedy. Off Harry went, following the tracker into the woods, where he found the culprit unhurt and unchastened. Relief and more apologies to Diane ensued. And great gratitude to have such nice neighbors.
Putting that drama aside, I hopped on Bart, and off we went with Jane and Derry. Bart was very happy to see his chestnut Irish mare. She was not quite as thrilled.
“How have you been?” asks Bart “Keep your distance!” says Derry Jane no longer wears glasses! I hardly recognize her. Ears forward for the camera, Bart!
After riding, I went to visit a friend who is in rehab at the Lake St. Louis hospital after ankle replacement surgery. There was a terrible accident on I-64 westbound and I got stuck in it, with the highway closed. Luckily, thanks to having a Subaru, and the good fortune of being in the right lane, I escaped across country and thanks to GPS was able to wend my way through Lake St. Louis back roads to arrive at the rehab. I was pretty amazed that they allow visitors, but now that I am vaccinated I feel I can do things like this. Maryann was in good spirits, the visit was short, due to time in transit, and I dashed back home for afternoon chores.
Meanwhile, out in Montana it was not a good day for riding, but Nancy sent a beautiful picture of Buddy, Rainy and Honey in a snowstorm…
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
We were detained by the same accident as we drove home from Bob’s second shot. Wish we had seen you. Jonee
My goodness, great to see you on board! And, Jane looks like a kid on a pony, all smiles. Marmalade, what a look, what is it? Intense concentration willing you to do what she wants? Cool cats you have. Warmer weather sure does perk us all up, not to mention we have solid footing! (We had loads of ice, two layers between snow, in KY). Happy Horses, Happy Days!
