Oisin’s new fly sheet arrived yesterday and he looks very stylish indeed! Today might be the last warm day with flies, but they are confused by the zebra pattern. Meanwhile, we are amused.
I spent some time clearing along the stream. Roscoe supervised.
The winds became so fierce that we decided not to ride despite the sunshine and warm temperatures. It was actually a “red flag warning” day, according to my weather app. Low humidity, dry conditions, and high winds create a fire danger. After what we have seen on television of fires out west, I am shocked to have fire warnings here in Missouri. Still pictures do not do justice to the way the grasses were tossed around.
I did take some bird pictures. They were not bothered by the wind at all.
Chickadee, cardinals & dove – a diverse group at the feeder A flight of doves (a chickadee flying by) Flight of doves breaks up in flight A lone cardinal (not a conclave)
Harry went into St. Louis county for an outdoor lunch with friends. I ventured to the grocery store for my adventure of the day.
Marianne brought joy, as usual, but she did almost fall into the dumpster as I was taking a picture!
A dangerous job!
The horses stayed out late with the mild weather. They were ravenous for their little dinners, and both Pearl Brothers followed their meal with a hearty roll, making a mess of their stalls.
Bart loves to be a mess
Finally, my brother, Michael, has retired from his job as a Federal judge. He is gallivanting around the west with his daughter, Kate and her boyfriend, Dillon. Here is a picture of an encounter they had in South Dakota.
Stay safe, stay well, stay away from bison.
Love the fly sheet. I have a matching blouse; I could stand next to him and be camouflaged!
