Another dreary day, but this one was very wet indeed! Before dark, the rain gauge registered two inches.
Early this morning, it hadn’t yet started to rain much, but it was lovely and cool. The birds were hungry, and the horses stayed out longer than usual. Two deer were in the north pasture, romping with joy in the unseasonable weather, until the Cedar police stopped the fun.
It was a lazy day, Bart’s favorite kind of day.
Harry and I ventured out to the post office and the grocery store in relentless rain, returning to more of it.

On the porch, it was delightful with the sound of the rain.

Unlike Bart, Harry is not lazy. He did his exercises.
And he worked in the studio.
The horses went out early. It promises to be a wet night. I can hear the rain starting to fall again as I write this, but it is too cool for horse flies, which is a blessing uncommon in July in Missouri.
July pastures as green as April
Finally, Roscoe fell fast asleep with the rain drumming, setting an example for tonight – windows open and air conditioning off as July exits and August arrives…
Stay safe, stay well, sleep soundly. Peace.
I’m envious of all that rain and your greenest pastures at the end of July, ever? Ok, Bart, the truth comes out. You have no fear of these romping deer, no more spooking allowed! Ha Ha. And the birds at morning breakfast! No ethnocentricity’s there! What a paradise!
Harry you are beyond productive; such an inspiration you are! You both are!
