The day started well, with this heart warming sight…
The horses were very happy. It was cloudy, but the rain has stopped.
Goldfinches are flocking to feed.
Harry and I made an excursion to Charlie’s for bedding. Charlie’s is a rare gem – a single, family owned store. The guys who work there have been there for a long time and that continuity and community has the feel of a small town, even as Wentzville has exploded around it.
Andrew… …and Hegge – load the bedding
Then, a stop for groceries, and home, where Harry cooked us a feast. He is back to full capacity, working and exercising hard. I got my exercise doing barn work and unloading the bedding. Note that it took two strapping men to load it!
Roscoe was magnificently picturesque, as always.
Two varieties of woodpeckers are around today – red bellied woodpecker and downy woodpecker. The downy woodpecker haas been pecking the cover of the outdoor grill for some reason!

Bart brought his herd in at dinnertime. They are ready for the clocks to change on Saturday night.
Where’s dinner!?
Finally, buckthorn berries growing by the stream – autumnal color…
Stay safe, stay well.
Lovely, just lovely. Roscoe has impeccable taste.
You Go, Anne! Strong woman you are. Yeh!! Harry is back all healed and off and sculpting. Love Roscoe and Weedy curled up together, and the birdbath is beautiful. Happiness, a wonder to observe, thank you!
