Just before I went to bed last night, we had a varmint visit outside the office window! The bird feed comes in at night, so I hope the varmint will move on to better pickings elsewhere… From his interest in the crumbs, I may have to start sweeping every evening to further discourage visits.
More rain today, buckets of it. For much of the day, though, it was just cloudy, and I managed some pictures between chores.
I did get pictures of Mr. and Mrs. Bluebird, though not the beautiful shots I aspire to. I am hoping they will eventually become less camera shy.
Another squirrel stopped by. This one has some red squirrel in his heritage, unlike yesterday’s little gray squirrel.
On the ramp to the dumpster, I saw a skink, and got a good close-up. But, oh, yuck!! It seems skinks are plagued by ticks. Very disgusting, and I feel terrible for the poor reptile. Missouri is plagued with ticks. They take some of the fun out of living in the country.
On a better note, the flowers are loving the moisture and peonies are particularly glorious.
And finally, two handsome guys on a rainy afternoon…
Be safe, be well. Enjoy every day, rain or shine. Slava Ukraini! Peace.
Love squirrels and find it interesting to note the great differences in them. One tends to think they are all alike. Not so as you point out. Ticks…ugg. I think you know my feelings about them. One of few creatures I would not allow on MY planet! We could definitely do with more of the smiley kind. Your photos are always stunning.
Thanks, Carolyn – I love your photos, particularly of “Little Red” and your charming chipmunks. We do have chipmunks in Missouri, and I love them, but with so many barn cats, they steer clear of this place, unfortunately. Like you, I would ban ticks from the planet, if I could.
Thanks’ Anne. Your the best.
Wonderful photography Anne. The last one — that intriguing character — made my day!
Anne, Greaty shot of Tom Morris and Marmalade! Some of these you should put in a portfolio and submit–but you know that!
