It was oppressively hot and humid today, complete with a heat advisory. Even early morning was muggy, but we did ride, and the horses were good. We will give them a rest day tomorrow, which is forecast to be even hotter.

Harry, meanwhile, went downtown to check on the installation of Ted Simmons, due for unveiling on Saturday. All went well, and he followed up with a warm nine holes of golf. No pictures allowed, but here is the site, just before the sculpture went up.

I mentioned that I would revisit the tree trimmers’ visit. When she arrived, I asked Tina if she was vaccinated, and of course, she was not. As each of the tree workers arrived and disembarked from their vehicles, I inquired about their vaccination status. All scoffed at the idea of vaccination. This is mind boggling to me, and I advised them all that I thought they were stupid not to be vaccinated. Again, they scoffed.

Then I watched them work, and realized these were the biggest risk takers I have ever seen. No wonder that are not inclined to vaccinate! I despair of conquering this virus. Ah, well, these are interesting times. Oddly enough, some people think jumping horses at my age is risky, and it is. But I am very glad to be vaccinated.

Anyway, here are those crazy guys from Cuivre River for whom I do have great admiration and respect. People are complicated.

Not much to blog about today. We had a delightful dinner with a good friend at our favorite restaurant, Acero, in Maplewood this evening.

The horses are out on a muggy night, grazing happily despite the heat.

Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
