The day started with a trip to a St. Louis doctor visit. For a change, it was not Harry seeing the doctor, but c’est moi! I have been having knee issues and was convinced that I should check it out. Basically, since I am able to do everything with only discomfort and some swelling, I wasted the doctor’s time. I have a little arthritis that may be flaring up. Getting older is not fun.
On to Whole Foods and then, a real treat, a stop at The Tack Trunk! I failed utterly in that I did not get pictures of my favorite people, including the returned Steph Hussman, who I did not recognize behind her mask because she could not possibly still look so young! Anyway, I went in for some boot polish and came out with a new helmet, with MIPS technology (and boot polish).
Home to a lovely, rainy day, which we needed. The horses were able to go out early and I was able to get some work done at my desk. Desk work is not picturesque, but gratifying. Horses happily grazing are my favorite pictures.
The birds were undeterred by rain.
Molting blue jay in the morning before rain Red bellied woodpecker in the rain Black capped chickadee in the rain Dove sheltering in the tree
Harry and I convened on the couch for a drink and news and took pictures of each other. Roscoe was very affectionate (he’s jealous of Harry).
I saw Oisin near the fence and popped out to feed him his favorite treat – a banana.
Yum!
Finally, another bird melee picture from yesterday. What an amazing planet we live on, with such entertaining and diverse creatures!
Stay safe, stay well, stay entertained by the things that are not looking for our attention.
Getting old is not for sissies! It is better than the alternative, though.
Nothing assuages the nuisances of growing older than good health. Poor Mr. Blue Jay, his head! The chickadee has to be one of the cutest birds ever. Love seeing them all, enjoy seeing horses so well loved, and especially yours and Harry’s pictures of one another. Makes me so happy to have happy friends!
