Well, this day has not offered much of interest for blogging. All was well in the barn, and the horses were happy, but not wild, this morning, when they went out to the pasture. Marianne and cats always offer good subject matter for the camera.
As I was taking cat pictures, Harry came out to the shed to add something to our recycling collection.
There were ten doves on the back porch, but when they saw my camera, all but one flew away!
Harry got a haircut while I did my monthly vacuuming. I knew he was home when the dogs went crazy. We all rushed out to see him.
Handsome Harry Mistletoe is so happy she looks freaked out
Then, Harry had an interview scheduled – in person here, and masked. I went off to Wentzville to buy bedding and to meet up with Tara, the brace fitter in the lobby of the Wentzville hospital. To my astonishment, the hospital in Wentzville has a regular emergency room, but the rest of the hospital is a psychiatric hospital! The lobby was pleasant and comfortable. Tara showed me how to put the brace on to help stabilize my knee as it heals. It looked uncomfortable, and I was skeptical when it arrived on Saturday, but it’s wonderful. I am encouraged that I will be able to run a marathon yet.
The guys at Charlie’s load the bedding – Hegge and Jackson
I found Harry at the mailbox when I returned. He had just finished the interview, and said the interviewer was very interesting. He was from a publication associated with Washington University.
Harry took a picture of the brace – I had to wear shorts to the fitting. Normally I would not be seen in public in shorts for fear of blinding people with my white legs. Nettie joined in the picture to add interest and beauty.
Oisin was first at the gate for dinner, while Bart and Stone were gorgeous, grazing in the late afternoon light.
This evening, when I fed the shed cats on their white tablecloth, Marmalade was so hungry he let me touch his neck for one instant. Then he was horrified. But it’s progress!
Finally, here is a ripening buckeye at Jane’s house. Such a cool plant with its dramatic red flowers in Spring, and now these nuts in the Fall!
Stay safe, stay well.
Oooh the buckeye is cool! Can you ride in the brace? Harry looks marvelous and Mistletoe makes me laugh. So happy to hear you and Marmalade are coming along.
Peace
I think I will be able to ride in the brace. It’s very comfortable. But I don’t need to, since riding is non weight bearing. The biggest difficulty is getting dressed for different activities. If it fits under breeches (it does fit under blue jeans), then I can just keep it on for whatever I am doing.
So cool to see Lic and Marmalade dining on their white tablecloth!
You have beautiful legs Ann.
Anne, I suggest a leg tattoo that effectively employs the canvas color, perhaps as in http://www.worcesterart.org/collection/American/1917.86.html
That might be the most beautiful painting I have ever seen – certainly is the most beautiful of alligators!
I am too old for tattoos! I can hardly stand them on young people, much less my old wrinkly skin!
