The sky was cloudy and dramatic all day, though for most of the day the temperatures were warm and no rain fell. And then, midafternoon, the barometer dropped and rain came in cold sheets. I called the horses to come in, but they believed they were wild creatures out in the elements, and they continued grazing in the rain.
The birds were feeding hungrily all day, feeling the cool weather coming from the west.

The wind whipped tails.
Rosie sat in the door of the barn, waiting for the weather to change.
Here it comes…
Rain!
The horses suddenly realized they had clean stalls waiting, and gladly came into the barn. Everyone rolled to dry out as soon as they had finished eating dinner.
Bart is happy to be back in his stall
Marmalade and Licorice were a bit damp when their dinner was served, but they were very content in the shed.
Harry worked hard in the studio all day, except for a foray to help me hang a gate. Like every job I attempt, this was not as simple as I expected. I wanted to give up, but Harry, with his magical spatial ability, was sure we could get the gate onto the hinges, and he was right. It was the best part of the day, but there are no pictures.
Finally, a picture from Nancy out in Montana, where it looks like they will have a happy Thanksgiving later this month!
Stay safe, stay well.
Hanging a gate always goes better with a friendly helper. Sheets of rain overnight here too. The gray season is back, crescent moon grin hidden behind the clouds. I love your birds, mine too. Their feeders and heated water dish are all ready to go.
