It was a cool and rainy day, which was very welcome after yesterday’s heat. The horses came in damp, but happy. Harlan arrived to empty the dumpster, repositioning it slightly, and then I wandered over to Jane’s house.
It really was a perfect rainy day, ideal for our mission to buy plants up north at Forrest Keeling. I had my camera with me. Jane was driving. On the way…

We were not the only ones thinking today was a good day to buy plants. The nursery was very busy. My plan was to buy two pecan trees. As usual, I was unable to control myself, and both Jane and I went a little bit crazy. We each bought a catalpa tree, and I did get two pecan trees. The next couple of days will be busy with planting! A young man named Billy helped us, and it was a fun adventure, especially after a year devoid of plant shopping.

We saw a bald eagle, and it flew right over the truck, but I failed to get the camera up in time. Another brilliant missed shot for the “almost” catalog.
Home to a pleasant, cool afternoon. When the rain stopped, I fixed a basket of lantana to the willow stump by the pond. The horses went out early, with no bugs to annoy them today.
Color! The Pearl Brothers enjoying a day off
As for bird pictures I did take today, here are a few.

And there were also some cat pictures today.

And a lovely sky to finish.
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
This sounds like a perfect day to me. Thanks for sharing it with us.
