Harlan was here today, with good conversation, as he did his expert and much appreciated dumping and placement of the dumpster. I didn’t have my camera handy, as he was a little early.
Harry departed for a routine car service, followed by a couple of errands. When I took the dogs out mid morning, Mistletoe was only interested in watching for Harry’s return. He is her favorite.
I managed a couple of lucky blue jay pictures this morning. I saw the bluebirds, too, but there was no luck photographing them today.
After barn work, I made a trip to the feed store, where I ran into Cindy, a friend I have known for decades. We had a hilarious time catching up, and to our delight discovered that she, too, will be going to Ohio two weeks from today. Cindy no longer competes herself, after a long and very successful career in the hunter ring. Her son is a professional horseman in Texas. She owns a couple of horses that will be showing and she will be there to watch. We old ladies will be having some good laughs and reminiscences ahead in Ohio. Jane happened along, too, while we were visiting, so we all had fun.
After lunch, it was time to ride. Bart could tell it was about that time. The horses were enjoying the sunshine. I had to wait until Bart got up.
The Crouchers enjoyed the sunshine, too.
Jane and Derry wandered over and we had a good fitness ride on a cold but pleasant afternoon.
No pictures of Harry today, but Weedy sleeping on the sofa will take us to goodnight.
The animals are unconcerned about the news, staying grounded in the present moment and helping us aspire to that peace.
Be safe, be well, be strong. Peace.
