The rain arrived as promised, but it was still very warm this morning. The horses enjoyed the rain.
I was looking forward to a rainy day, and we did get 3/4 inch, but it stopped before midday and the promised winds kicked up. I expect many of our beautifully set jumps will be down. But at least the footing won’t be dusty.
I went to town for a few things and had no luck. It’s interesting that we are quickly getting used to empty shelves and unavailable products. The bedding we like is out until at least Friday, the mulch I prefer at Lowe’s is out (I got the last four bags) and they have no idea when it will refill, as shipping is unpredictable. First world problems, but it’s feeling a bit third world out there lately.
Harry did his exercises with help from Cedar and Weedy. Cedar increased the weight with her tail.
Roscoe observed from a sunbeam.
Out in the garden, the day became hot and muggy, but the little clematis is very happy. And the similar Bellflower is now blooming, too.
A couple of pictures from yesterday, since the computer was having a bad day and they didn’t load…
Harry walking home from the ring Anne and Roscoe relaxing
When I fed Licorice, the stray cat was around, so I set the brand new trap. For many years I have had Jane’s Havahart trap, but it was so difficult to set last time, I ordered a new trap. It was definitely worth the money! Easily set, and the cat was trapped within three minutes!
And finally, Rainy, the Montana mule baby, having her second or third “ride” by Steve, now has a possible playmate. This one has dubiously short ears, though…
Stay safe, stay well, and don’t judge by ear size.
Rain, “God’s showers for horses,” quipped long time gone German trainer from MN. Wife Karen, what was his name? Owned a barn that was there forever, not too far from Louise Otten’s Alpine Farms. Darn, his name??? Anyhoo, love the flowers, love the photos, love the tail adding weight to help Harry stay fit as a fiddle, love Roscoe resting (is it always/), love the horses, what a life, “You can’t beat it,” they say!
Jane, was it Hans Senn? I still have many copies of his book. Do you guys have it?
