It was another cold and frosty morning. There was a lot of snow to be shoveled, luckily powder, which was not heavy, but I must admit I was exhausted by midday. It was trash day, and Harlan was overworked and running late. The cold causes horse manure to freeze to the sides of the dumpster. I did hop down into the dumpster and scrape the sides, but couldn’t take too much of Harlan’s time, so there is still a lot of frozen shit in the container. There you go – you have learned something today about the joys of horse ownership in winter.
Perhaps I should change the name of my blog to “Fluttering Through”, since there are more birds than horses these days. Today was no exception. Here are some pictures.
First, a pileated woodpecker and a downy woodpecker in one frame – such a variety of size!

And that’s about all for today. Harry took a picture of me with the boys, Roscoe and Weedy, resting in the big purple chair after a lot of shoveling. And I got a shot of Harry and Weedy on the couch.
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Fabulous, thank you!
