The day was rainy and gloomy to start, but sunshine arrived this afternoon along with some wind.
The Crouchers in the barn shared a breakfast bowl, and Nettie and Cedar shared a plate in the house. Weedy and Mistletoe waited to be given treats. They are not competitive plate lickers.
Mistletoe had to endure a terrible ordeal today – having her feet and nails trimmed. The hair had to be cut to find her awful, overgrown nails. Poor little thing! It took both of us to accomplish the task, and we will have to be more attentive going forward. Weekly pedicures will be required to get those long nails shortened. I am so irresponsible!
First birds at the feeder in the morning are the goldfinches. There was an inch of rain in the rain gauge.
One of my favorite birds is the Carolina wren. I only seem to see them in the winter, but I think it’s just that I am not observant enough. Today, there were two outside the kitchen.
Harry made a trip out to pick up a few things, and took his trusty co pilot with him.
Weedy was pretty tired. He traveled many miles today – probably more on foot than in the car, since he was out adventuring for over an hour.
The day ended with a text from Rebecca to let us know there were eggs in the mailbox – and delicious brownies warm from the oven! Here is a picture from the summer of Rebecca, out of focus, the way she likes her pictures.
Finally, it being Thursday and not much to show for today, I will do a Throwback Thursday to last October (2019), when Jane and I showed at Blue Heron… We had so much fun! It seems a lifetime ago.
Stone jumps Derry kicks out
Stay safe, stay well, remember the fun.
mistletoe looks like someone should put him out of his misery. (and i’m sure he doesn’t like being photographed at his worst!)
I feel as tired as Weedy looks.
the crouches are adorable
Bronze Fox Farm days always gives me a lift.
