We planned to ride this morning if the evening rain wasn’t too heavy. Stars were in alignment, and hardly any rain fell in the night. It was a beautiful, cool morning
Bart decided he needed sleep more than exercise, but eventually, between bribery and beating, he staggered up and we all had a fun ride. There were puddles on the ring, but the footing was fine.
Kevin, our “forage producer” brought a load of hay. There is nothing so delicious as the smell of fresh hay, and it is a great comfort to have it in the barn. Harry helped me clean the shed, and then went off to St. Louis for golf in perfect weather.
Back in the barn, the Pearl Brothers were exhausted from the short ride.
Plants were exuberant today. Coreopsis (tickseed) is a common flower that I love, and it is just beginning to bloom.
Harry returned and fixed us a feast for late lunch. We had a minor fence repair project. There’s always plenty to do.
I knew the swallows eggs had hatched when dive bombing of the cats began. It’s a hard few weeks for the cats. They have to watch out for swallow bombers.
Harry and Weedy relaxed at the end of a full day…
Be safe, be well. Slava Ukraini! Peace.
What a glorious day it was! Thank you for sharing. I love how they love their beds.
Slava Ukraini! Peace.
The picture of the baby birds with their mouths open is priceless.
A glorious day indeed!! Coreopsis, Globe campanula, amazing knowledge of plant and animal life on the farm. I love that the Globe Campanula came from your mother’s garden! Harry’s delight on top of Stone with smiles all around, wonderful!
