It was another gloriously cool morning, and again we postponed riding. In the end, I had to go out to the pasture and drag Bart to the barn. I relented, and tacked up Oisin instead.
Marmalade came to breakfast, and it was heartwarming to see that he and Licorice are getting along, and sharing food. He was somewhat less frightened of me, but still a serious scaredy cat.
Jane and Derry arrived, and we decided to trail ride a bit, and do just a little work on the dusty ring.
The morning light was beautiful.
The view from Oisin Jane and Derry Strong downward transition Powerful upward transition Good boy, Oisin! We are all itchy these days!
I took a couple of shots of Harry and Weedy today.
Marmalade showed up right on time for his evening meal with Licorice at the Flatbed Restaurant. Tom Morris remains the most orange of cats. I hope that he will allow Marmalade to eat at the barn when the weather gets cold. He has come to rule the barn, but he is a benevolent leader.
I wanted to get a shot of Harry in the studio as evening was drawing down. When we went into the studio, there was a terrible smell of burning and Harry found one of his clay cookers was malfunctioning. He opened it and smoke billowed out! We were so lucky to find it this evening and not after the studio burned up!
Finally, out in Montana, the new yellow filly is looking good, but Rainy is still the most beautiful mule under the big sky…
Fancy filly Small mule, big country
Stay safe, stay well, avoid crowds.
Thank you for sharing another day of delights from BFF! Good to see Marmalade settling in and Harry in his moments with Weedy and his art, along with the ever changing and ever the same players and characters in your daily accounts. And good to see you and Jane with the horses … lucky ones they are! Peace, L
