I got a picture of Cedar trotting out this morning to get a cat food scatter. She’s not camera shy from this angle.

All horses were well and happy and ready to go out. Tom Morris slept in the tack room last night and needed to roll and scratch in the gravel after being so civilized. Oisin and Stone gave each other a scratch over the fence.

It was a dreary day, but at least the wind has died down. Roscoe was out and about, keeping an eye on things. I spent the morning doing barn work.

Harry worked in the studio and did his exercises. Weedy supervised.

Jane and I went for a ride, which was somewhat shortened by rain. No complaints about that! We are very grateful for moisture after a long, dry spell. Derry is not impressed by Oisin’s attention.

Oisin got a bath, then out into the rainy afternoon for a little while. Soon enough, I took pity on the horses and brought them in early.

Licorice and Marmalade were hoping for an early dinner.

Here is just one of the six deer that moseyed through while I was closing up the barn. No antlers on any of them.

The birds were busy today, with the weather getting cool.

Stay safe, stay well, stay warm.

  1. Is that sculpture in Harry’s studio someone who used to live here? Didn’t those guys from that era, whichever it was, 1800?, look wonderful in those stocks and fittedcoats?
