It was a very chilly morning, with frost on the barn roof!
Cedar did a lot of barking toward the northwest, and when the horses were turned out, they seemed to think there was something in that direction, too. The interest led to some excitement, and there was quite a rompfest.

Jane and I worked very hard at clearing a route around the fallen tree on the trail we call the West Loop. Once we were thoroughly exhausted, our favorite trail was again passable. We tacked up and rode, and even jumped, in spite of our exhaustion. The horses were delightful. Of course, mine had worked out their kinks already. The light in the woods was beautiful, with perfect fall weather today.

Back at home, Harry was hard at work in the studio.
We took a break for a cup of tea, and Mistletoe joined Harry at the table.
Later, Harry was tired, so he lay down in a sunbeam with Mistletoe and Cedar. It was a bit frightening to find him like that, but he was fine.
Marianne came to do barn work, and we set off for dinner with friends, hence the late blog post. I will sleep well tonight.
Finally, Roscoe enjoys fall days on the porch, and hopes that everyone can make the most of this beautiful season…
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Magnificent pictures Anne.
