Sunday – November 22, 2020

As I mentioned yesterday, this would officially be my aunt Celia’s 92nd birthday. Celia was a great one for adventures, and she came to visit us in 1986, when we were newlyweds. I thought it was incredible that she could still ride at her advanced age of 58. I adored Celia, who never grew old, though she lived into her eighties. She took up yoga at 50, when she was widowed, and was more flexible at 80 than I was at 20. All pictures are from her 1986 visit, and I would like to point out to horse friends that we are riding down Benne Road, which was a gravel road in those days…

Back here, to 2020, it was a busy day, but no real adventures.

Marilyn rode through on her new horse, Bruno, with Roy in attendance and full of Labrador energy.

Marianne came to do barn work and was able to meet Bruno.

Harry saw Marilyn through the window of the studio, but he was too hard at work to come out.

The dogs accompanied me to the studio to visit Harry. Weedy led the way.

And to finish, here is one artistic shot of the deciduous holly berries.

Stay safe, stay well.

  1. Looks like a glorious day! Happy Birthday Aunt Celia! I took up Yoga over a year ago. Hopefully I will be more flexible at 80 than I am now. Harry’s clay friend appears to be breathing. And I love the holly, it grows wild here, huge and spectacular fringing the wetlands. I’m not sure I ever noticed it in MO. Peace

  2. Aunt Celia looks like someone I would love to know. Lucky you Anne, to have had her with you in your fortuitous life. Love that Weedy, he knows where Harry is at all times, I bet. The Holly Berries are a delight, as are the birds. No cats??? Carry on! I love this simple, and beautiful escape everyday.
