It was another cold and dreary day, which was good, because we needed to get to work on Christmas cards. Outside, there was no thought of such esoteric things. Birds were hungry. The horses were ready to get out of the barn to eat hay, romp a bit and pick through what’s left of grass in the pastures. Marmalade was demanding breakfast. And Cedar wanted a cat food scatter.
I took the camera with me today, and went to collect yesterday’s mail, finding two beautiful fungus pictures on the way.
At lunchtime, I took some more bird pictures.

This afternoon, I brought the horses in and settled them in their stalls. Marmalade waited outside the tack room to escort me to the shed to serve dinner.
This evening, we relaxed and watched Sixty Minutes. Well, some of us watched…
Weedy is tired! Roscoe Mistletoe and her favorite human (mine, too).
And one last thing… my brother Mark has always been the best photographer in the family. I have used his photograph from 2018 without attribution, for which I hereby apologize. It was taken on Christmas Eve 2018 in St. Louis, and it is a cool picture of Harry’s cool riverfront sculpture under the cool St. Louis Arch, lit blue.

Stay safe, stay well, stay sane.
Many thanks to you and Mark for sharing that incredible Arch/ William Clark photo and thanks to YOU for the wonderful bird photography. I have had to retire my feeder ( too many hungry feral cats around), so I always look forward to my morning visits to your busy food station.
I love your blogs Anne.
Again, Weedy is the smartest! He sleeps during the news!
