Lack of excitement can be a blessing. Especially with animals, excitement is seldom a good thing. So, there is nothing exciting to report, and while I am happy that it was a beautiful, fairly ordinary day, I’m afraid there isn’t much to blog about.
As promised, the weather went from miserable to glorious.
Both varieties of dogwoods are splendid…
I tried to get a picture of fish in the pond, but ended up with an interesting abstract of water instead. I did see a little frog, too, and snapped a picture of him (her?)…
I walked down to check the ring after the rain gauge reported 1 and 5/8 inches of rain yesterday. Footing was perfect…
Jane and I rode, and even jumped a cross rail! It was too small to afford a good picture, since the horses just cantered over it, but we do prefer that to excitement.
Derry and Jane Bart and Anne
Bart tried to win the grooming award for me, but I made the effort to clean him when I tacked up.
Oh, Bart!
Little Mistletoe did provide some concern. She went out this morning for the after breakfast romp and returned limping dramatically on her left front leg. By this afternoon, though, she had returned to her normal level of general lameness, so we hope it was just a minor glitch.
Harry worked hard in the studio after his obligatory morning exercise. He is an inspiration in his dedication to recovering.
And so we count our blessings for an ordinary day, complete with long conversations with each other and Jane in person, and with friends on the phone. We are so fortunate and grateful.
Fortunate indeed. Even the ordinary days sound wonderful …and they are.
Yay! Go Harry Go! Hooray for Ordinary days! Jumping a cross rail looks like such a treat, enjoy!
