Another glorious Spring day! After horses were turned out, and breakfast enjoyed, we repaired to the basement for biking. I did the rowing machine while Harry biked, except for snapping a couple of pictures…

Later, Harry walked out to the barn to say hello to Marianne. Proper distancing was observed by the humans. Nettie is too close!

Jane and I rode Derry and Bart.

Harry worked in the studio with his new schedule of an hour work, an hour rest. The leg is swelling less with this regime.

We had a pleasant day, with little to tell. We are incredibly grateful for every day, after the difficult times in February and March. The curse of “May you live in interesting times”, is indeed a malediction, and we treasure these ordinary days, as we are living in “interesting times” indeed.

Having tea on the porch

At the end of the day, there was some excitement, when I went out to the studio to retrieve my camera, and met up with a varmint! Somehow, he got stuck in the dog pen – not a very good place for a raccoon to be, with Cedar, scourge of varmints, in the house. Lucky creature – we opened the gate so that he could exit. If he returns, we will be setting the new Havahart trap and relocating him.

Roscoe was exhausted by a long day outside, and I am, too…

Sleeping Roscoe

Sleep well, stay well, be healthy and happy.

  1. Have I ever told you how much I love the Ogilvie quote on your home page. Galloping through! That’s how I want to go! Hopefully a very long time from now. Here you are, Good Morning Anne and Harry and all! Reliant as the sunrise. Thank you! Who is the man coming to be in the studio? We have an exquisite new sculpture of Secretariat at the round about on Frankfort Pike. I love it and go by, rather around it often. I always wish Harry had done it. I sent the local article about it via email for you all. The sculptor Harry probably knows, Jocelyn Russell.

  2. Alas, the beautiful weather means the baking and cooking sprees of the last months are in firm abeyance. Maybe, just maybe, there will be scone making, but no promises!

    1. Oh, Janis! We enjoyed the sprees – thank you! Now we can enjoy the beautiful weather, and I need to diet, anyway! Bart is beginning to groan when I climb aboard!
