Squirrel! – Sunday, May 17, 2020

It was a VERY rainy morning. The horses were quite content, their Irish heritage resonating in the downpour, but when they came in for breakfast, The Pearl Brothers were exhausted and hit the floor.

Outside the front door, the downpour was intense…

A rainy Sunday morning

Squirrels are not loved by everyone, but I really enjoy them, and they were very entertaining today.

It turned out that the squirrels enjoy eating locust blossoms! They leapt up into the tree and had a grand time.

Harry never takes a day off. He was hard at work while I was squirrel watching.

In the afternoon, the sun came out. Weedy found a sunbeam.

It was way too wet to ride on the ring, but great weather for pulling weeds.

I was in the barn puttering around, when I saw Mr. Bluebird in the peach tree, and I happened to have my camera at hand!

My gray familiar stayed with me all day, great comfort on a soggy day. And he did not molest Mr. Bluebird. Too much effort.

And finally, today’s Montana mule baby picture! Rainy is small but mighty. She can walk underneath her mother, but what she lacks in stature, she compensates for in ear size!

Stay safe, stay well, stay dry, and laugh often.

  1. I love squirrels. They see the fun in everything. You are an excellent squirrel photographer. Harry’s baseball player is coming alive! So amazing to see! And those scraps of sky are spectacular, my mother always had them around her. And Weedy and Rainy and Roscoe are beautiful, thanks for sharing!

  2. PS…what are those lovely trees outside the front door? They are wonderful and that pic is a cover shot 😊

  3. I love squirrels too! They have fun! Bluebirds impossibly blue, yes, perfect! Harry is definitely a man loving what he does, sculptor, dog lover, Anne lover❤️👏

  4. I’ve loved squirrels since the Rally Squirrel of 2011. Perhaps one day, the Cardinals will put him in the Hall of Fame and they will have Harry do a sculpture 🙂 I love the photos! Stay safe and well!

  5. Two air shots, I think that the woodpecker shot is within reach! I love the photos of Rainy, such a cute foal!
