The day started innocuously, but with the feel of snow in the air. Surely not, in late April! The last frost date, on average, is April 15.
Vlad came out to drop off some sculptures and to pick up the two maquettes for armature enlargements. I love seeing Vlad, but had to get to the barn, with it being trash day. I had to get stalls cleaned into the dumpster before Harlan arrived to empty it.
By the time Harlan showed up, the snow had started.
The horses were not happy with the weird weather, and were unsettled, romping and sparring.
Oisin thinks snow is not fair in April “Please don’t call me a shithead, Bart!” “Could we please come in!?”
I did relent, and brought the horses in early. The Pearl Brothers, being Irish, were fine, but Stone was shivering from the wet cold, so I put a vintage dress sheet on to dry him and warm him up. He was very grateful. Thanks to Harry and Willi for winning the coveted Series Award thirty-one years ago.
It was a strange day. The birds were very hungry. Snow tapered off, but it is going to be a very cold night tonight.

And inside the barn, Tom Morris stayed warm and dry all day, venturing out tonight after lights out. He is a creature of the night.
Finally, here comes Mistletoe, not very happy with the weather, having shed her winter coat under the clippers yesterday, but she had a delightful evening by the fire, and she gets more cuddles because she looks so cute!
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
I agree with Oisin. Snow in April is unfair, and I am holding back on other ways to qualify snow in April.
