Well, September has arrived and departed with alacrity. Today was a busy Friday, with Nathaniel weed eating, Rebecca gardening, and Marianne doing barn chores, none of them documented by my camera work, alas. We are very fortunate to have help here.
The day began in the barn, and I did get pictures of Cedar and Roscoe as I went to turn the horses out.
Once our horses were out, I biked over to Marilyn’s house to feed Trigger, but forgot to take the camera. The mist was beautiful, and it was cold enough that I needed a coat and gloves! Soon enough, the day turned warm under a cloudless blue sky. As I drove out to run some errands, I saw turkey vultures. There is another dead deer in the woods. Apparently, there is a viral disease called blue tongue, spread by midges. It seems to be pretty devastating, this being the fourth recent unexplained deer death. Thank goodness for these birds that deal with death, and that also delight the eye, as they soar above.
Jane and I went over to Happenstance to set jumps for Susan and Riley, who will be showing this weekend. It was a short, pleasant diversion, leaving the real work to the aforementioned gang of helpers.
No pictures of Harry today, either. I will close with these beautiful flowers Rebecca brought to us…
Be safe, be well. Slava Ukraini! Peace.
I have missed your news. It’s a very good thing your internet is finally behaving.
I so enjoy learning a bit about the comings and goings of your busy life, horses and art combined.
Yesterday’s pictures of you and Harry from your wedding day till now were wonderful. What a beautiful loving pair you two are.
And thank you for highlighting the beauty that surrounds you. In this mad crazy world we live in, your positive comments always bring some sanity and comfort. Thank you Anne
Yes, September passed too quickly! Frosty mornings are here already. Thanks for your news, and for the glorious bouquet.
Be safe, be well. Slava Ukraini! Peace.
Siggy! That’s the name Kate gave her new dog. She’s a floppy-eared silly girl, very sweet and loving.
Thank you, Janis! I didn’t get Siggy’s name, but I did want to dognap her – she is a very sweet dog!
Dicto Anne.
