Snow Day – March 22, 2020

The day started gray and gloomy, then came rain, which turned to sleet, and then to snow – which was not in the forecast! Of course, with self quarantining and social distancing, it didn’t much matter. Again, it was a joy to have Harry back in bed. We are not actually social distancing from each other, presuming if one of us gets coronavirus, so will the other.

Harry wakes up with Weedy and Roscoe

Cedar is so happy that Harry is back in the bedroom – she knows he gives good tummy rubs! For some reason, he just won’t bend down these days, no matter how she begs!

But the dogs do have good luck with the begging at the kitchen table…

Breakfast treats are the best!

A huge milestone was achieved today. Harry was able to take a shower! I wanted to take pictures, but I was too busy making sure he didn’t fall down. He is so independent now, I hardly have to help him. He lets the dogs in and out and walks from place to place. He might be overdoing it (his “bad” leg is very swollen), but he rests, too…

Resting on the bed with Weedy and Cedar

The birds were feeding hard today, as the weather went from rainy, greening Spring back to Winter for a while…

And there was another guest (I’m calling him Baldy – note the hair loss)…

Oisin was almost invisible for a while…

Weedy went for an adventure this afternoon and got filthy, then returned and exuberantly took up his place on the hospital bed with Harry. The bed is staying a while longer because it’s a nice place to rest and watch TV…

The snow was beautiful and brief. It was gone by this evening. We wish the coronavirus crisis could be brief… It gives every indication that it will not be! The curse of “interesting times”.

Snow

Try to stay calm and centered in these whirling days.

  1. Looks like a beautiful spring snow. It did that here as well. Happy to hear that Harry is up and about although I’m pretty ok without shower pictures 😂

  2. The squirrels on the bird feeders are driving my dogs insane. It worse than having out of control children in the house as they rush from the kitchen to the office and ask to go out ALL the time. When they go out they are totally crazed chasing the squirrels to the trees. The squirrels here should be bald because of the stress the dogs are causing them🤣🐿🐿🐿🐿
