It was cloudy to start, but as I was doing morning chores, turning out horses, the snow began again and it persisted all day, off and on. Too much of this – it’s time for some moderation! The weather app says, “not yet”.
I like to complain, but my friend in northern Missouri has it so much worse than this, that I really shouldn’t even mention the weather. The good news is that Jane got her propane delivery today, so her pipes are not going to freeze!
The birds were spectacular today. A rufous sided towhee even visited the back porch!
I take literally hundreds of shots of birds at breakfast and lunch. Much of the rest of the day, I neglect to take the camera. This weather is so exhausting that it’s hard to worry about more than the basics. I told Marianne I could do barnwork today, thinking I would wait until after the snow. Ha! I just returned from night check, and it’s still snowing.
The horses never complain about the snow.
Mistletoe deserved a picture that didn’t look like she is on her last legs. Here she is, watching out for Jack.
Nettie, too, warranted a picture today. She always takes a good photo if I say the word “biscuit”.
And Tom Morris, of course, manages to find the camera just about every day.
A few more bird pictures to finish off…
Finches Wrens Wrens again Rufous sided towhee
Stay safe, stay well, stay warm. Peace.
Wow, I’ve never met a Rufous Sided Towhee, fantastic. Your bird shots are wonderful, thanks for sharing. Mistletoe looks ready as always to defend the castle. And I love the chilly silly Wrens. Stay warm and safe!
Peace
