Saturday – March 13, 2021

It was not as wet today as I anticipated. There were birds about, many goldfinches.

Marianne came to do barn work and brightened the day with her smile.

Since it wasn’t raining, I went to check on the ring. It was quite wet. I got a picture of a mossy rock in the stream when I walked over.

Harry had to change Denny Reagan’s shoes from laced to loafers, so he was at work in the studio.

Bart was bored, so I decided to lunge him. Jane said she would come over and watch. The ring had dried well since morning. Jane took some pictures.

When we got back to the barn, Jane took a picture of Cora and a gray haired old woman.

Then, Jane decided she did want to ride today after all, so she came over on Derry. Oisin was delighted. He much prefers company for workouts.

Marmalade is getting friendlier and more engaged.

Finally, our friends John and Laura are in Colorado, and may be there for a while, with a historic snowstorm now in progress. Laura sent a picture of a pair of swans this morning, taken from their window. Not a bad place to be snowed in!

Stay safe, stay well. Peace.

  1. You’re a cat whisperer. Happy to see you and Jane riding again. It’s nice to see how Harry changes shoes 😊 Good morning Mistletoe.
    Peace

  2. Laced to loafers? Have to wonder the work involved. Not like trying different shoes on at a shoe store. How about one of each since it sounds like someone can’t make up their mind.

    1. Poor Harry! Laced shoes are very labor intensive to sculpt. When Denny came out to approve, he immediately noticed the shoes were wrong. He had dressed for the sculpture, but happened to wear laced shoes that day. Pictures were taken, and used for details. Normally, he wears loafers, so for the iconic sculpture he needed to be in loafers. Ah, well, it was good practice for Harry. Like doing scales on the piano. Keeping his sculpting hands in shape.

  3. Marmalade has lost that judgmental and wary look to such a nice “Hello.” Well done! “Hey you gray haired old lady, Good Lord, what you must think of me?” You’re lucky in your gray hair, a beautiful sterling color with your dark streaks. You look great! And, so does Jane!
