It warmed up today to real Missouri August weather. The horse flies were thrilled, the horses, not so much…
Jane and Derry led Bart and me on a delightful, long trail ride. Fitness work! Low impact.
I set myself a task of cleaning out the tack room, and was very disappointed with my progress. The only thing I accomplished was taking a couple of cat pictures and filling a bag for Marianne to take away. I am inspired by my friend, Barbara, to dispose of as many things as possible, but I am pretty inept at this!

Marilyn rode through with her friend, and Roy. Chilly, Marilyn’s horse, is 25, and her friend’s horse, Doe, is 27! That makes Bart seem fairly youthful at 14!

Harry had a long visit with our good friends in Jacksonville, the Pearces. Jim is also an artist. He and Harry served together in Viet Nam, and he was in our wedding. I arrived late on the scene of the FaceTime visit, but it was fun to see Jim and Mimi looking unchanged since we last saw them in 2006!

A quiet evening to end a day of much activity, with little to show for all the work I did. We are always grateful for our life here in this quiet corner as the pandemic rages on, and we putter around, watching birds and flowers and making art.
The artist relaxing Nettie thinking “again with the camera!?” Roscoe thinking “I am magnificent – take a picture”. Goldfinch and chickadee face off Zinnias and butterflies
Stay safe, stay well, stay connected.
My daily good morning treat. Anne’s blog.
Anne’s blog is a treat. The photo of Nettie emitted a chuckle, her face says, “Really?” And Roscoe, absolutely the magnificent. Before I saw the caption below the finch and chickadee, I thought, “Face off!” Yep! for sure. Bart cracks me up, he might be a “princess-mare” inside, his naps, those horse flys, nap again, I do love him, as I have come to love them all. Blessed days at Bronze Fox Farm are a real treat!
