Day dawned for a rainy morning drive back across the river, but we had smooth sailing, and a good report from the doctor. The patch was removed, and already Harry can see better. The doctor promises it will get better, as the dilated pupil returns to normal, and the cornea heals. I enjoyed this cataract experience much more than the previous ones, since I was allowed to accompany Harry and learn about the procedure. Dr. Brothers was very forthcoming with information and seemed both competent and artistic herself. It was a good morning.
Bird pictures were wet today.
There was activity in the paddocks, too. The horses were doing more self exercise than I like to see, as the rain turned to snow this afternoon…
Bart and a very snarky Stone Bart gallops through the narrow gate with no room to spare Bart is such an athlete The herd on the move Oisin is not enthusiastic about the romp A conference Pearl Brothers
As a side note – on the way home from St. Luke’s, we stopped at The Tack Trunk and I picked up some new winter gloves for the coming deep freeze, and a new, larger girth for the Pinto World Champion, who has put on Covid 190 from the looks of it. He will be shocked when he has to go back to work soon.
And speaking of back to work, Dr. Brothers told Harry he could work, as long as he didn’t lift anything heavy, so he went dashing off to the studio.
Rosie always helps me in the barn, usually underfoot, but I don’t think I could do barn work without her.

Rosie’s brother, Roscoe, meanwhile, likes to pull towels down off the towel rack to make a cozy place to sleep.

From Montana, Nancy continues to provide wonderful photos of Rainy and Honey, but still no snow!
Growing is hard work
Finally, here in the house the lemon tree is blooming. I bought it labeled as a tangerine, but it produced a lemon, and with any luck will be doing so again this year. The fragrance is heavenly.
Lemon tree very pretty
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Wow, after 5 days of no blog, I received 5 installments today, woohoo! Love the views of your multicultural flock eating, socializing, and in flight, the Cardinals and Yellow Flicker especially! Hope Harry’s doing well. Jane looks marvelous. Horses and cats appear to be fat and happy. Weedy and Mistletoe are the cutest Harry fan club couple. We were grateful to receive good news recently that Ted’s cornea is finally beginning to show signs of healing, after his cataract surgery in July. Your photo of Bart’s gallop through the gate is fantastic. I would like to know I may use his legs and feet for a project. We’re having a blizzard, off to shovel some snow, yippeeeee
Peace
Of course, you can use any of my pictures any time, Linda!
The fragrance of orange or lemon blossom is my absolute favorite. It’s heavenly, and very soothing. Lucky you to have that in your home! Happy that Harry is doing well with his recovery. His is looking mighty cool with his “glasses”.
