The good news is that Harry is feeling fine. I have had a minor reaction to the vaccination yesterday. I’m feeling a bit peaked and am running a low fever. So, not much to report today, since I have spent most of the day resting, apart from chores. I did take a few pictures.
Birds on a very cold day.

The horses do not mind the cold at all. They are so well insulated that the snow doesn’t melt on their backs.
The water trough needed topping up this afternoon, and I was afraid the water might freeze in the hose, but all was well. The heat tape and insulation has kept the hydrant operational. But there is worse cold ahead.
I expect to be back to full health tomorrow.
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Hey, your reaction to Phizer is very common, according to news reports. I have Moderna.
Yes, I knew this was a possibility with Pfizer. I’m glad Harry escaped reaction. But I’m not complaining – it’s a small price to pay for protection! Glad you got Moderna!
These nonhumans and their ability to deal with frigid temperatures both amaze me, and remind me how fragile we humans are. Brilliant water pump wrap! Horses do well in these single digits, but those out 24/7, I wonder? Hallelujah, warm up coming!!! Vaccines, not yet, no available reservations here in Lexington. Although a few thousand have gotten the vaccine; I must have found out late. Oh well, we’ve had a year of waiting, what’s a little more? Cheers! Love this blog!
Sorry your not feeling well. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
I am fine today – a good night’s sleep and all better!
Are you feeling better yet? I know that you would rather it be you and not Harry. Have they told you how long the vaccine will last? Heat tape and insulation looks great, thank goodness for that.
I love the photo of the blue jay suspended in mid air. Photos are fantastic this year!
I am fine today – one day of feeling slightly less than well is a small price to pay. We feel very lucky to have both vaccines on board now. I think they are suggesting it will be an annual vaccination, like influenza, but I don’t think they really know how long it will last yet.
You two look great, and your birds are fantastic. Happy to hear you are finished with the vaccine, we have a second dose to look forward to in March.
Stay safe and warm!
Peace
