Well, I discovered my technical issues are not all solved, so I am quite frustrated. Nonetheless, it was a lovely, rainy Monday, which gave me time to work at my desk (no solution yet), but not much of interest to blog about today.
I took a quick trip west to Rob’s Lawn & Garden & U-Haul to pick up a new chain for my battery powered chainsaw. That establishment should be in a reality show. I have never been there without being hugely entertained by Rob and his father, Bob, and the strange collection of characters that come through the door or call on the phone. Beyond that, they are very competent, so I got a new chain and some good laughs, and returned home to a delicious lunch with Harry.

The bird population still hasn’t rebounded from all the chaos and the interruption in feeding. I also missed some good shots today. Some days are just not as lucky as others with the camera.

Harry worked as hard as ever in the studio. Rainy days don’t slow him down at all.

In honor of Indigenous People’s Day, here is Harry in a parade as William Clark with Eve, as Sacagawea.
And in memory of the former Columbus Day, here is a 1933 Christopher Columbus monument (Carl Brioschi sculptor) in Chicago’s Grant Park. Won’t be seeing many of these any more. Columbus was one of the top five historical figures represented in sculpture before the unfortunate wave of “wokeness” sank his ship.
“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it”, as Winston Churchill said, and Mrs. Miller exhorted us as she attempted to teach us history. We cannot judge those people from other eras by today’s standards. We can deplore the consequences of their actions, but I fear we are getting a bit carried away now, and it may rebound to unfortunate effect.
I hope it was a good day, whatever you call it. It was Monday here.

Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
I am so glad to hear that Rob and Bob are well and busy. Please let them know that my Scag they sold me and drove 90 minutes one way to service for so long is still mowing. I am so grateful.
I will definitely tell them, Florence!
At some point, statues are just art. And art should be allowed to instruct long after those represented are gone.
Any in there Anne, it’s worth for all of us.
It’s wonderful watching Harry’s subjects come alive. I’m sure Nettie is a fine helper, but I remember Nettie here at the Thoroughbred Makeover going on now! Which makes me miss you more, you, Harry, Jane, Nettie, and Artie!
We miss you, too, Jane! And Nettie loved the Makeover. It was a highlight of her life. Even though she and Chaps could not play together, I think she was glad to have met him.
