More rain! The electricity went out again early this morning, but only for about an hour. I was afraid Michael would not get coffee, but in the end it was fine. Harry and I had our coffee and tea at 5 AM before the electricity went out. Some of our friends in St. Louis have been without power for two days, so we cannot complain.
I set off at 7:30 for the car dealership for a most unsatisfying visit. I hated having to do it with Michael here for only today, but we need the car ship shape for an upcoming road trip to Texas. The drive on I-70 was harrowing in pouring rain and the problem was not really fixed, though I was assured the car would get us to Texas and back safely. Ha! It will add to the adventure, feeling the transmission slipping.
Michael was pressed into service in the studio today.
Time to reattach the hand and glove Harry determines the position Michael holds the position while adhesive sets A big responsibility! Healing begins
With heavy rain again this afternoon, Michael and I went to check on the condition of the ring when the clouds departed. The creeks were high and running fast, but we did get across. It was a lot of fun, and a flashback to youth, to be playing in the woods with my little brother.
Before we went to the ring, Oisin got a banana peel A chanterelle in the woods Michael leaps the first creek The second creek is too wide to jump, and quite tricky to cross The ring is too wet for tomorrow morning. Jumping the first creek on the way home And Michael sticks the landing!
Michael treated us to a delicious dinner at Bristol, and then Harry and Weedy took him back to Conway Road, from whence he will go to the airport early in the morning.
Weedy is ready to go
The summer tanager is wondering why the buffet is empty.
“Where’s the food??”
Horses were very happy for the cool weather and early turnout, even if it is a marsh pasture. It doesn’t look wet in this picture, but they are grazing through puddles!
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Without coffee! The horror! Fortunately we have a French Press so we had no worries. Tricky to light the gas ring with a starter, but I left that to Bill.
Great to see Michael, it’s been years. Looks like you both enjoyed being kids again.
Great snaps of you and Michael….Best he watch those jumps..he is not as young as he thinks he is!!!!
Sorry about the mess, but looks like a glorious time with your brother, how fun.
Peace
Family resemblance is very strong! The jumping too, Anne on horses, and Michael, does he have springs in his feet? Crazy weather, droubt, flooding, crazy!
oh dear, droubt????? Ha ha ha Drought, is that better?
Doubt??? Oh dear, drought, yes, drought. I droubted the spelling, ha ha ha
