Rain – April 4

The weather forecast has, unfortunately, been accurate, and it is very wet.

Before the heavens opened, I had an early morning visit for my annual medical evaluation. Medicare insists on asking way too many questions about our life, in my opinion. I was very stressed about the cognitive test, but I nailed it. Basically, I passed the vet exam, and am cleared for competition. On we go!

I returned for a late breakfast with Harry, during which I took some bird pictures. Birds in flight are my desired shots, and I had some good luck today…

And, yes, that red winged blackbird had a sore foot. I took 90 pictures (not exaggerating) and he never put that right foot down! The camera enables me to see things that I do not notice otherwise.

After a morning racing around the place, Eddy relaxed through the rains.

There was a break in the downpours, and I put Eddy on a leash to go out and see how the creeks were faring, while Harry and Weedy went to collect the mail.

The horses went out to graze when the rains paused. They were very happy to come in to their dry stalls as dusk moved in with more rain. I was drenched picking the shed and paddocks.

We are all worn out by the dreary day.

Be safe, be well, stay dry. Enjoy the beauty in even the dreary days. Slava Ukraini! God Save America. Peace…

  1. I can’t imagine why you were worried about the cognitive test. Those “in flight” photos are indeed wonderful. I had an interesting drive to Arkansas in all that rain yesterday.

  2. I’m glad you were able to pass the “pre-purchase exam”!! Medicare has never given me a cognitive exam, thank goodness!! Your cardinal photos are always my favorite bird ones, perhaps because I’m from KY and the cardinal is the state bird. Loved the shots of the horses hurrying to dinner with the beautiful trees in the background.
