The Full Cold Moon was setting as I climbed out of bed and went to the barn.
It was, appropriately, a very cold and frosty morning, but a beautiful day.

Our friend, Anne M, texted with a tip on Christmas trees out in the country. Harry had plans to attend a World Premiere play in St. Louis, but Jane and I went on a Christmas tree mission with Weedy. We found the place, without a GPS!
Christmas trees! Jane and our trees
The trees were not inexpensive, but they were beautiful, freshly harvested Fraser firs, just what we wanted. As a bonus, there were also two lovely plain wreaths. And it was a beautiful drive along the Missouri River. Returning from the successful hunting trip, we stopped to let Weedy see the river up close. He was not as excited about it as we were.
Jane and Weedy at the river’s edge “Look at the river, Weedy!” Poor Weedy is not enjoying this! The magnificent Missouri
When we got back to Jane’s house, I had the idea to take pictures for the blog! Jane and Weedy were very good sports.
Preparing for the shoot “What next!?”, thinks Weedy Weedy strikes a pose The money shot!
Back home, the horses had enjoyed their day.
Harry returned from a triumph of a performance. The world premiere of Comfort, by Neil Labute received a rave review. With only two actors on stage – Kari Ely and Spencer Sickmann – Harry said it was a tour de force, intense and memorable.
And finally…
Jane has already decorated her tree!
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Oh Anne, what a delightful blog this is. I love your “money shot” of Jane and Weedy. I miss seeing you there as well. Also, the photos of Jane and Weedy by the Missouri river make me feel like we MUST make at least one last road trip through the US and go through these magnificent sights, along the Mississippi and Missouri.. well basically, everywhere nature is master and commander.
What fun! Weedy is a good sport.
Peace
Weedy is a most noble and tolerant beastie.
I love the comments about Weedy, “noble and tolerant,” “good sport,” I’ll say. What was Weedy thinking? “Do they want me to go into it?” “My god! This is vast and scary, why are we here?” “Geeze, these humans, what next, Oh no! A wreath around my head!” Beautiful shots of the MO River, and then the play! So I went to the Ladue News and read the review, then sent it to my theatre friend in MN. then I read more and decided I miss St. Louis, a microcosm of culture, the intrinsic part of life I miss. Thanks Anne, really good stuff! The tree is adorable! And, jane looks great in a wreath!
The photo of Jane and Weedy with the wreaths is priceless. This was a great set of photos.
Great photos as always. Love “ the money shot” Hope the New Year will be full of health and happiness for all of you
