Harry left early this morning for errands in St. Louis county. I put out bird food, then had a leisurely morning in the barn.
Outside, in the early morning sun, a self-seeded Mexican sunflower opened, late but lucky. The first frost has not yet arrived. A little bug went to work on the flower, and by midmorning, it had eaten through a petal.
Mexican sunflower We enjoy the flowers in our own ways
Rebecca arrived to help in the garden. I failed to get a picture of her, but she outworked herself today. We weeded the iris mound outside, which was one of a million jobs hanging over my head and driving me crazy.
Before After
This morning, Rosie supervised my barn chores, and this afternoon, her brother, Roscoe, kept watch over the gardening.
The stream has been flowing without interruption since Connie’s last visit. It seems she has truly fixed it this time, and it is beautiful on days like these.
Harry returned and went work in the studio. Some days require awkward working positions.
I went out to look for Roscoe later, and saw a deer.
‘Ware haunch! Yikes!
Finally, Nettie made her evening rounds, and all is well.
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
The stream is streaming and truly beautiful! Worth all work and worry it seems! Bravo!
