It was another dreary, cool day. A bit like living in the Pacific Northwest, I would imagine. Jane and I rode Oisin and Derry this morning in the mist, and we were quite wet by the time we were finished, even though it wasn’t technically raining.
The irises are blooming and very happy.
Also happy with this damp day – little froggies and toads.
Great excitement with the sighting of a new bird – a summer tanager! Even more exciting, I saw Mrs. Tanager, who is mustard yellow, but I wasn’t able to get a picture of her. I also failed to get a picture of a red winged blackbird. But getting the tanager was quite special.
Harry and I ventured out to buy groceries and got takeout lunch for a real treat. Afterwards, we had a post prandial lie down. A three dog nap, with Weedy, Mistletoe and Nettie.
Weedy Mistletoe (and Nettie’s back)
I rode Bart, who was wondering when Derry will show up.
The coreopsis are in full bloom, decorating the graveyard below the ring.
And finally, out in Montana, Rainy is getting bashful, and hid behind a bush. Maybe someone told her she has big ears…
Stay safe, stay well.
Speaking for the Pacific Northwest, it only ever alternates between grey and rainy here, and anything over 60F is considered a heat wave…
I think our horses would like to move to the Pacific Northwest!
Relentless rain, and flooding, the whole KHP is squishy, but Etta and I don’t mind, although the sky seems a shroud over the sun.
A Tanager!!!! How do you get these exotic birds?? I am sooooo glad to see life has resumed somewhat normal at Bronze Fox Farm. Except for this life changing episode called Covid. I refuse to relinquish my joy!!!!
I love that expression “I refuse to relinquish my joy!”. I aspire to emulate that attitude!
