Mistletoe Spa Day

Today was Mistletoe’s spa day.  She traveled in to Ellisville early this morning to see Carol, her aesthetician.

This is what she looked like as she left…

Shaggy little dickens

And here she is on her return… She had her nails done, too!

She can see again!

But while we are at it, I thought I’d share some favorite Mistletoe shots.  She has lived here for over ten years now!  She came from the Franklin County Humane Society in Union, Missouri, as did Nettie, a year earlier.

We ventured out in an ice storm to see the adorable little gray doggie dubbed Emmy.  She was scheduled for a trip to a Petsmart Adoption Day the following day and we wanted to beat the crowd.  The adoption fee for Nettie had been $50.  When we said we’d take Emmy, they priced her at $250!  What!?  “Well, she’s a choice breed!”, they told us.  And they insisted on keeping her to spay her, not trusting us not to breed her, as a “choice breed”.  Whereas with Nettie, they just sent her home with us, for our vet to spay. Well, we returned to pick her up from their vet two days later, and she was worth the hassle. We were lucky to beat the crowd!

No more moles around here!

Another glorious day – blanketless horses and all animals basking in the warmth… but get ready for winter’s return!
