Long Hiatus, Short Blog

Practically the entire month of November has vanished without a blog post from Bronze Fox Farm, to my dismay. There has been little exciting news, but a couple of big things. We now have Spectrum fiber optic internet, which will cut my posting time in half, or better. I will not bore readers with the two weeks of hassles involved in the process, but the end result is astonishing.

The really big news is that we have a new family member. Introducing Eddy, who is a year and a half old…

Eddy has been returned to the shelter twice by previous adopters for “bolting”, but we are hoping third time will indeed be the charm for us. Ironically, he came from the same Humane Society that gave us Nettie and Mistletoe. He already knows his name, is house trained, crate trained, and ia good car passenger. He is very enthusiastic and full of energy and silliness. Weedy and the cats were initially a bit unenthused. about our adoption idea, but they have been won over. Roscoe spent several days in the basement on his comfy chair before relenting and rejoining the family.

Harry was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in a marathon ceremony held at The Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis. His fame is, of course, as a sculptor of athletes, and he was in good company, with one of his subjects, Adam Wainwright, also honored along with many others.

Thanksgiving has ushered in the stressful holiday season, with short days and winter in the wings. We have much gratitude here, which tips the balance from stress to joy. All horses, cats and now, dogs, plural, are well. The troubles in the world continue to roil, but there are glimpses of better days for some. We do what we can, and appreciate our good fortune.

Be safe, be well. Slava Ukraini! Peace.

  1. Well, Anne, this late blog was certainly worth the wait. Eddy is adorable, alert, seeming ready for playful mischief and blessed to have been adopted into the Bronze Fox Farm’s Menagerie. So happy for you, Harry, Weedy , the cats and horses. And, Congratulations are in order to Harry, the hall of Famer! What a well-deserved honor! Yes, lots to be thankful for this month.

  2. Eddie! You lucky dog. You have landed in paradise, try to be a good boy. I hope that Weedy comes around to appreciate his new brother and Roscoe recovers soon. Congratulations Harry!

  3. Worth waiting for, this blog about Eddy and his new family. I hope for success in his new digs. Hard to imagine what he has been through in his short life, but he seems a lovely dog.
    Congratulations to Harry!

  4. Congrats on darling Eddy . Ted was so impressed by all the accomplished people at the Chase induction dinner, “I’m a nobody, and I was really stimulated to be in that company.” Ted is such a good, seeing , knowing , appreciating human being, The accomplished world needs a Ted for its audience. AND LIKE YOU ALL, HE WAS SMITTEN WITTH aDAM wAINWRIGHT.

  5. BRAVO for Eddy, now learn to stay! He sure is cute. I hope he is smart too. If so he’ll stay in four-legged paradise.

  6. Eddy looks to have found the right home at last. I’m sure it’s fun to have him tearing about. I love the look on Roscoe’s face. Cats always manage to convey their opinions very clearly. I can imagine what would happen if we brought a dog here. We would love to but I think it would be inviting trouble! Congratulations to Harry!

  7. Hi,
Huge Congratulations to Harry so well deserved. I’m glad Weedy is accepting Eddy. Not much excitement here but spent 4 days in the hospital last week with pneumonia…….having to take it slow and not riding is killing me……….. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season and we’ll have to catch up via phone as I have way too much time on my hands. Ellie is due in February and just bought a house in Cohassett ma and Meagan Jerry’s wife is due in January so lots to look forward to. Love to you and Harry xoxoxo

  8. Congrats to Harry! How exciting.
Eddy looks like a good boy. Hopefully he will be out and about at a horse show soon. 😀

  9. I love Eddie! He is absolutely adorable, and a perfect subject for your wonderful photography. I love the close-up head study of him. A huge congratulations to Harry on his Hall of Fame induction. He is so deserving. It was so great having both of you here at William Woods university tonight. Harry’s was fantastic and several of the students have already told me how much they appreciated it now my next project is to get you, Anne, to come do an event for me at William Woods. I’ll keep working on you! Your photographs never disappoint. I hope you had safe travels back home tonight.
