Saturday was too wet for riding, but not too wet for hard work, of which there is plenty this summer. There was not much worth blogging about, but I did see a most interesting fungus while we were working in the woods. I was extremely tired and sore by the end of the day, feeling my age!
This morning, Susan came to ride, with her mother, Belinda, who is visiting from Kansas. It was a fun jumpfest. The horses’ long feet will preclude any more jumping until after Fred comes to reset shoes, but we had a blast today.
Assembling for the jumpfest Oisin’s opinion of the morning ride Jane and Derry arrive On the way to the ring Belinda spectates Susan and Oisin Jane and Derry Mother and daughter Oisin introduces himself to Belinda Riding home
The rest of the day was unremarkable, but I did get some bird pictures.
I think these blue jays might be siblings Blue jay in flight Blue jay mugs for the camera Summer tanager takes flight Marmalade ignores the dive bombing swallow
The red perennial hibiscus is outrageous, and tomorrow the pink one should begin to bloom, too.
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Missed you. I see where Susan gets her good looks from.
