Inauguration Day – January 20, 2021

It has been a day that started with some anxiety, and has finished by uplifting us and filling us with hope. There is considerable happiness in this household.

With the vivid background to the day provided by the peaceful transfer of power and the prevalence of democracy, albeit enforced by troops, it was still an ordinary day around here.

Harry rose early and went to a stress test. We won’t know his grade until tomorrow, and nothing but an A+ is expected. His cardiologist is careful, there is nothing particularly wrong. He looked great when he returned after hard cardio exercise, but I failed to take a picture then.

I spent many hours over the past three days with technical support, and was on the verge of giving up blogging, when I finally connected with Cody, who, I believe, solved the problem of the notification e mails. We will know for sure tomorrow morning. That was not the only issue I was dealing with, but it was the most frustrating, and went from bad to worse before I met Cody.

I did take a few bird pictures, but in trying to keep the numbers of images reduced, only two made the cut today.

The dogs were pretty bored by our fascination with the television in the middle of the day.

I went for a walk this afternoon, followed by Tom Morris and Rosie. We walked the perimeter of the pastures, and they stayed with me the whole way. Here is Tom Morris’ big adventure.

On our walk, we got some romping horse pictures, too. The horses are staying fit, unlike their “rider”.

A stop in the studio found the artist sculpting on a ladder, though you can’t tell by this picture that Harry is up off the ground.

Finally, here is a natural sculpture I saw on my walkabout.

Stay safe, stay well, be glad. Peace indeed.

  1. The photos are stupendous today! The birds some of the best, love Tom Morris’s romp and that the cats stayed with you on our walk, the dogs, Harry, always handsome, and the horses! We say at Old Friends Farm retirement for TB’s “If you give a TB enough space they’ll keep themselves in shape.” Looks like this is true for all breeds! Happy Horses Happy Days!

  2. Yes, we were also glued to the tv. It was a good day indeed. A day full of hope. Gosh I hope you keep blogging, love seeing what you’re up to. Tom Morris in scoot mode is fantastic.
    Peace

  3. Best picture of the Flicker with yellow feathers in flight yet! All the others photos of your animals and Harry at work lightened my day. Thank you
