Another really hot day, but we started with a pleasant ride. Susan thought Oisin looked better than ever after his night wearing his new fly sheet.
There was a good omen after our ride – a familiar turtle ambled through the grass – this one was last photographed in June.
Harlan did his usual magnificent job of emptying the dumpster. He is always in a good mood, making Tuesdays more cheery.
A molting blue jay visited the back porch and left in embarrassment when he saw me taking his picture.
But the big event of the day is a visit from my brother, Mark, and his wife Cynthia, and their new dog, Kota. It has been such fun to spend time with them, but there hasn’t been much time for the blog. I probably won’t post tomorrow, either, but I will be back on Thursday.
Mark Cynthia Mistletoe meets Kota Delicious dinner fixed by Harry
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Great to see Mark and Cynthia! But don’t they know this is not time of the year to visit “hot and humid”
St. Louis? But we are just as bad here so I am sure the company was well worth the visit!!
Expression on Marks face at the table makes him look like my Bob so guess those Quetsch genes carry on!!!
Love to all….
Thanks for a great time and great hospitality as always. Harry made a perfect summer meal including the peach melba! I was craving corn and it was good!! Love the new water/river feature and Kota loved it too. He loved the dogs especially mistletoe. We spotted 2 armadillos on our sultry walk at dusk. Kota took a long drink in the creek. We did burn up today but won’t have any house work till December. Kota has slept since 330 in his back seat bed heading back home to Chicago. He had so much fun he’s exhausted.
Anne, you and Mark look so alike! Both with good handsome faces and great smiles! I am so glad Harry likes to cook, nothing better than a male chef! What fun to have visitors! Good family! Great horses! Looks pretty good to me!
