Today was a very busy day. Connie from Pond Crazy arrived this morning to begin the water feature reconstruction. I collected tadpoles as the pond drained.
Once the tadpoles were collected, I had planned to take them to the creek, but Connie told me they would do better in a pond, so I took them to Marilyn’s lake instead.
Tadpoles (note legs on one above) Marilyn’s beautiful lake Big tadpole Wishing the tadpole good luck Bye, tadpoles!
Then, it was time to push mow while Nathaniel rode the big mower. It was very hot and humid, but quite a satisfying day. I mowed for three hours! The horses were happy to have a rest.
Harry came with me on the tadpole relocation mission, which was the best part of the day.
At one point, when I was in the house getting a drink of water, the pileated woodpecker stopped by for some suet. They depart in a most ungainly fashion, but it’s so cool to see them.
The pond work continued until dark, with Connie’s son arriving to help in the afternoon.
I was exhausted, and the internet was down, so I figured I would not blog. But miraculously, I got an actual human to help me when I called Centurylink. His name was Peter, and he somehow jolted the modem back to life from afar. I was very grateful (and surprised). Hence, this blog is somewhat abrupt.
Stay safe, stay well, stay connected. Peace.
Sounds like a good day. The tadpoles are lucky to know you. And to have your blessing, lucky indeed.
Peace
Yeah, the tadpoles have a new home! What a change from last year, visitors from afar. What a wonderful transformation. And your blog is always a joy to read. I’m glad Mistletoe had an admirer.
