Jane and I had a fun jump fest this morning. We are so lucky to have these red Irish horses!
I informed Oisin that Jane was going to ride him today.
“What!? Jane is going to ride me!?“ “I’m too tired and it’s too hot!“
We went for a trail ride since it’s finally dry enough for that. Oh, poor Jane! Oisin was SUCH a baby about the flies, and it was a most unpleasant ride. But we were able to laugh about it. Any any time spent on a horse, even when they are fussing and being horrible, is essentially fun.
Harry was at work in the studio when I returned, and took a break, taking the dogs outside for “airing”.
Cedar and Weedy Nettie Mistletoe
Nathaniel came to mow and Rebecca came to help in the garden, and later, Marianne came to help in the barn. A staff of three! What a spoiled life I lead! Of course, I did do the push mowing, which was a hot job, but it is amazing to have so much help from consistently nice people. They are more than helpers, they are an example to me in their constant good humor.
Nathaniel Marianne Rebecca
The photo of Marianne was taken two weeks ago, since I forgot to take a picture today. It’s appropriate that she is pictured with a cat, since she is practically a cat whisperer. She assures me that Marmalade will come around. She spent some time with him. He has begun to eat a little bit, though not in my presence. He stares at me from his catloo and wonders what he did to deserve this misery of confinement. Soon I will give up and release him. His baleful stare is beginning to wear me down. I forgot to get a picture of him today, too!
Meanwhile, in the studio, Harry has started a new sculpture.
And from Montana, Nancy sent me pictures of her mother’s yellow roses in Missoula. She says there are whole hedges of these magnificent roses out there.
Stay safe, stay well, smell the flowers.
Wow, the roses are amazing! Harry is amazing! And you and Jane are indeed lucky girls. Enjoy 🙂❤️
